I'm Okay is designed around deliberate check-ins rather than continuous surveillance. The app does not request precise location or health data. It does process the information described below when you set up and use the service.
Information we process
- Profile and routine: your chosen display name, check-in timestamps, reminder and overdue-window settings, vacation status, and Going Out timing and status.
- Trusted contacts: names, email addresses, relationships, and alert order that you enter. Please add a contact only when you are authorized to use their details for this purpose.
- Messages you create: optional Going Out notes and Just in Case recipient details and message content.
- Device and app information: an app-generated device identifier, DeviceCheck authentication data, public-key and authentication material, device model, iOS and app versions, language, region, country, and time zone.
- Operational records: synchronization times, scheduled alert state, email-attempt state, service errors, and limited analytics events needed to operate, secure, and improve the service.
How we use information
- Register and authenticate your app installation.
- Store your check-in configuration and determine when an alert workflow is due.
- Send service emails to the trusted contacts you choose.
- Restore the latest service state, prevent duplicate alerts, troubleshoot failures, protect the service, and understand basic feature operation.
Service providers and recipients
We use Cloudflare to host the API and service storage, AWS Simple Email Service to deliver contact emails, Google Analytics for limited operational analytics, and Apple for App Store purchases and device-integrity services. These providers process data under their own service terms. Information is also disclosed to the trusted contacts you choose when the configured alert workflow attempts to send an email. We may disclose information when required by law or reasonably necessary to protect users and the service.
We do not sell personal information or use this service data for cross-app behavioral advertising. Email and notification delivery are not guaranteed and can depend on permissions, device settings, connectivity, recipient systems, and provider availability.
Retention and deletion
Service records are retained while needed to provide your configured check-in workflows. In Settings, choose Delete Account to request deletion of the service data associated with this app installation, cancel scheduled service alarms, and remove local app data. Operational security, delivery, and diagnostic logs may remain for a limited period when reasonably necessary for reliability, fraud prevention, legal compliance, or provider operations. Deleting app data does not cancel an App Store subscription; subscriptions are managed separately through Apple.
Security
The app uses HTTPS for network transport, device authentication, and access controls intended to protect service data. No internet service can promise absolute security.
Your choices
- You can disable local reminders in the app or in iOS Settings.
- You can edit or remove trusted contacts and optional messages before an alert workflow is due.
- You can use the in-app Delete Account control or email us for privacy assistance.
Website analytics
The public website uses Google Analytics to measure page views, App Store link clicks, outbound links, language changes, and scroll depth. Browser or content-blocking settings may limit this collection.
International processing and changes
Our providers may process information in countries other than your own. We may update this policy when the app, providers, or legal requirements change; the date above identifies the current version.
